History:

We first worked with William Levene Ltd in 2003 and continue to work with DKB Household UK as their trade fair stand builder after the company was acquired, with this being our 15th year as their exhibition stand designer and builder for venues such as Ambiente in Frankfurt and Exclusively Housewares at the Business Design Centre.

Learning In Partnership:

During this time we have come to understand the brands that they represent well. Housewares is a particular passion of ours, and having the opportunity to work with brands such as Cole & Mason, Zyliss, Jamie Oliver and Ken Hom, to get a real feel for them - for how they are best displayed on an exhibition stand, the materials that complement them and the textures and colours required - has given us real pleasure over the years.

As the brands have changed and evolved, the stand space, the requirements at a particular trade show, and the audiences at those exhibitions have also changed. Relationships that stand the test of time do so because of the flexibility of both parties and the need to recognise and adapt to these changing needs as well as taking account of new trends and technologies that allow brands to communicate differently to consumers.

Defining The Space:

The layouts of the exhibition spaces taken at the trade fair in Ambiente in particular have changed significantly over the years. In 2008/9 a double deck structure worked best and was conceived with angled, curved raking walls to draw the line of sight of delegates into the branding, and their attention into the space. A double deck exhibition stand is always a challenge, particularly the way in which the second storey is accommodated and supported without presenting barriers and creating dead space. Our solution to this has been highlighted as producing one of the most open, engaging and fluid two storey exhibition stand ideas many have seen.

Immersive Brand Experiences:

The current space of 34m x 6m presents a different challenge, which is to provide a consistent experience of DKB for the delegate whilst differentiating the brands in their own zones across a vast exhibition space. Different finishes are used for different brands, whilst methods of display remain broadly similar. Hand treated oak veneer and black gloss laminate is used throughout Cole & Mason. Brushed aluminium and white sprayed finishes throughout Zyliss. With solid beech shelving and worktops utilised for Jamie Oliver. The flooring for the stand is warm yet clean in a dark cherry woodgrain, and the paint finish for the walls throughout is a warm cream from the Farrow and Ball range. The quality and warmth of finish throughout provide that immersive experience in support of the prominent DKB branding displayed at key points on the stand.

CLIENT TESTIMONIAL

“ESM has been our key provider of exhibition services for 12 years. We come back year after year because of the consistently high level of service we receive on each and every project. Nothing is ever too much trouble, either during the planning and development phases, or even on site at the build-up, where last minute changes and additions are always accommodated. The results too speak for themselves – we are always delighted with the end product, which comes out of a true team collaboration between ESM and DKB”
