At ESM our aim is to manage the design and build of your exhibition space to create an engaging and memorable stand for your company and brand. All work is undertaken in house at our Kent headquarters by our experienced team who have been working on exhibition stands and trade fairs for a number of years, bringing both expertise and the latest trends to every project.
We love what we do and from the very second we are appointed to work with you, the first priority of our exhibition stand designers, account and project managers will be to ensure that those who visit your exhibition stand become part of a positive learning experience with your organisation, whose values we have been tasked to take live into a trade fair environment; so that you are able to engage your customer, immersing them in your marketing content, product experience, service and most importantly the brand values that make you who you are. We create and develop designs for environments and spaces to communicate the marketing strategies of our clients. Specialising in exhibitions, our work also encompasses interiors, retail displays and conferences.

We have a purpose-built manufacturing facility with an extensive range of fully serviced and maintained equipment and plant. We employ skilled craftsmen with a passion for the materials with which they work and continuous assessments ensure we maintain the highest of standards.
EXHIBITION STAND BUILDERS
We enjoy the ‘nuts and bolts’ of a project as much as the creative and delivery. We will manage all elements of project administration, health and safety aspects, liaison with organisers and show appointed contractors with a process in place that has seen us deliver with minimal fuss.
Our projects range from exhibition stands which are 4sqm in size to over 200sqm for a wide variety of trade shows. Whether you want an open plan stand, conference rooms, double deck or demonstration areas, our team have years of experience in our sector and know exactly how to maximise your presence.
We go above and beyond to manage projects for our clients, our team of exhibition stand contractors will take care of the detail, working with trade show organisers to check all health and safety requirements, power, lighting and delivery of products to your stand to help take the stress out of the preparations.

Yesterday, we dropped off some food items at the Swale Foodbank collection point at our local @asda in Sittingbourne. 🥕 🥦 🍅
As a small events business with a focus on sustainability, we think it's important to operate with ethical considerations in mind, from using local suppliers and SMEs when possible, to donating things like old electrical equipment and wood offcuts to local charities whenever we can.
There's always more to be done, but it's okay to start small; every little helps, and all we're hoping to do today is inspire others to give whatever you can this Christmas. There are individuals and organisations out there promoting fantastic initiatives at every level; anyone can #getinvolved and hopefully together we can all #makeadifference to real people's lives.

Even our own Rob Brackstone took to the stage for his first speech as incumbent Chair of our Trade Association ESSA. As we go into 2025, we look forward to supporting him in his vision for the organisation as he helps to continue ESSA's tireless work, championing the interests of contractors and suppliers of all sizes from every corner of the UK events industry.
As defending champions, winning the award for 'Best Stand Under 10sqm' for exhibitor Rushton International's stand at Airmic in Edinburgh earlier this year really was the cherry on top. We'll see you all again next year to defend our title once again!

We've done a few posts about this stand already... but now it's on the shortlist for 'Best Stand Build Over 30sqm' at the upcoming ESSA Awards, so we've got yet another excuse to show off this fantastic design once again! 🎉 Thanks to our designer Emile Slim for bringing this concept to life.
With its visually unique and impactful layout attracting a great deal of attention on the show floor of Excel London at Oceanology International earlier this year, this stand caused a real stir among attendees, driving high footfall and really maximising our exhibitor Greensea IQ's brand presence. At ESM, providing tangible results, helping our clients stand out from the crowd and achieve their goals is what we live for. 😎
Built with sustainability in mind, it's important to note that the stand was also constructed using 100% recyclable vinyl and carpet floorcovering materials. Offering sustainable alternatives to our eco-conscious clients has been a key step in advancing our sustainability mission this year, recently culminating in achieving Tier 4 in the ESSA Sustainability Accreditation 🌱 ✅

In keeping with the host location, the magical stand we built for exhibitor Rushton International at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) not only captured the attention of delegates and judges at the Airmic Conference 2024, but has also now been shortlisted for 'Best Stand Build Under 10 sqm' at the upcoming ESSA Awards. 🏆
Last year we clinched victory in this category with our entry for Greensea IQ. Having already been awarded 'Best Small Stand' at Airmic, we're confident we can repeat this success with our spellbinding effort for Rushton! 👊
Designed by Nathan Gibson, modelled by our CAD draughtsman Dave Heathfield and manufactured, built and installed onsite by our in house team of talented carpenters, joiners and labourers - everyone had a hand in bringing this enchanting concept to life.
Thanks to our projects team for the wizardly prop sourcing and arrangement, our decorating department for their help on paint finishes and ageing, and finally to our production team for their recommendations on suitably gothic hardware, mouldings and fixtures.

We recently flew over to Messe Munich, working with design agency Article Ten to bring to life two stands at Exporeal.
We’ve been manufacturing and building the stands for exhibitors BGO and PIA for a few years now, but we never become complacent; regardless of how many times a stand goes out, we always put in 110% effort and attention to detail to ensure the structure and finishes are nothing short of spot-on, from the Acupanel walls to the fabulous halo lit fret-cut logos.
This is just one of many projects we get invited back to rebuild each year by our loyal client base of exhibitors and agency partners. Our high customer satisfaction is clearly reflected by our strong rebooking rates; clients from a variety of industries trust us to deliver their projects time and time again, whether it’s exhibitions, pop-ups or fitouts.
In order to uphold our clients’ trust, maintaining the highest standards is paramount, and our commitment to quality assurance is reflected in our recently renewed accreditations from ESSA in the areas of health & safety and sustainability.
Conducting meticulous internal post-build performance reviews is also an important part of this process, highlighting not only areas of success, but also opportunities to optimise our operational workflows and enhance next year’s rebuild.
As part of our in-house operations, we also offer secure storage services for clients’ stand elements and collateral, a much more cost-effective and sustainable approach to redesigning or starting from scratch every year (although we also offer amazing bespoke/custom builds!). Aside from any minor polishing or refurbishment work (a piece of cake for our skilled workshop craftspeople), it’s just a case of removing from storage, transporting to site and setting up.

Coinciding with #zerowasteweek , ESM has achieved Tier 4 in the Event Supplier & Services Association's new Sustainability Accreditation. 🎉
Thankyou to everyone in our office and workshop for their efforts and contributions on this one. From updating company policies and waste management systems to assessing our energy efficiency and renewing employee training - it's been a mammoth task!
One of the most important things we've taken from this process has been a renewed focus on employee wellbeing; not only have we introduced new policies relating to mental health and flexible working, but we have also re-established green commuting initiatives like the Cycle to Work scheme, as well as making resources available promoting healthy lifestyles and encouraging honest employee feedback and suggestions.
On the environmental front, we're especially proud of our graphics recycling partnership with @rocketgraphicsltd , as well as the work we've done with our flooring supplier offering clients 100% recyclable carpet options and @tarkettuk to recycle and divert from landfill all cushioned vinyl flooring.
But the work isn't over yet, and we've highlighted a few key target areas for improvement with one more tick to work towards next year.
With ESSA's newly released carbon calculator, we can finally start measuring our overall impact on the environment. Moving forward, we're excited to start analysing this data to find ways to reduce our overall carbon footprint both at events and within our own premises in order to meet our climate goals and help the events industry a a whole move towards #netzero by 2050.

Another successful day out reinforcing our partnership with @thecircuskent building Hutchinsons' stand at the @cerealseventuk , hosted at @bygravewoods_ , Newnham Farm, Hertfordshire.
Outdoor events aren't usually within our purview, but we never shy away from an opportunity to step outside the box, and whoever says you can't teach an old dog new tricks? 🐕 (would you believe we've been building stands since 1989?!).
Anyway, how hard could it be to lay some decking in a field? 👀

We were back at the Business Design Centre in London over the weekend building 6 stands at the Exclusively Housewares show for some of our lovely existing clients DKB, Tramontina, Addis, Le Creuset, Lloytron / Laltex and EKO.
Although shell scheme is compulsory at this show, that doesn't mean we don't still have our work cut out for us ordering services, laying flooring, building/decorating and transporting client product. At such a product-heavy show, visual presentation is key, so finishes (as well as graphic sizes and placement) need to be absolutely spot on. 🌟
With so many clients on site at the same time and numerous moving parts to coordinate, we had both the ESM Projects and Workshop teams chipping in on site to get everything ready for opening morning. Our purpose is to help our clients realise their vision, so we aim to complete our work as soon as possible, so that they have the time and space to focus on and channel their passion into arranging their fantastic products on the stands. 👨🎨

With Money 20/20 building this weekend at RAI Amsterdam and Exclusively 2024 at the Business Design Centre soon after, we're coming up to our busiest period of the year.
The workshop has been in overdrive to get everything made or removed from storage and packaged safely, ready for transport to site; our project leaders have been working tirelessly to make sure all stand elements are finished to the high standard our clients expect and everything gets loaded systematically onto the correct vehicles heading to stipulated unloading locations at each venue. 💪
In the office, projects have been hard at work liaising with clients, submitting health & safety paperwork, ordering show services, arranging access passes and confirming logistical arrangements; aside from design, build or manufacturing - organising product and personnel movement on this scale is never a walk in the park... nor inexpensive!
This is especially true when planning and executing projects outside the UK, which can be subject to so many more bureaucratic hurdles and red tape. But our diligent staff always work hard to plan for every eventuality, down to the smallest detail (we are now professional jugglers 🤹♂️), although I don't think anyone wants to hear the word 'carnet' again...

We've been in Germany working with @cheerfultwentyfirst building two stands at the OMR Festival, hosted at Messe Hamburg. Forget Marketing Rockstars though... this glamorous team photo lets everyone know that the ESM team are the REAL legends! 😎🔥🎸
If you look closely, you can see how some of our recent #workinprogress shots of unfinished hollow cylinders from the workshop have been brought to life on this stand; beautifully spray painted according the client's colour specification by our decorating team, they now serve as part of several geometric-themed LED-lit totems and counter supports.
This is a prime example of how striking visual elements, such as those featuring in Cheerful Twentyfirst's fantastic design can be incorporated as unique points of interest to draw the eye and attract visitors to your stand.🎯

As soon as a design is approved, the 3D assembly drawings are scaled up and we've been given the green light to manufacture, each project gets sent to our on-site CNC machine to be cut. ⚙
Out on the shop floor, our expert craftsmen finish and assemble each element of the stand and sometimes put them together as part of a pre-build dry run and quality control inspection. Then the parts move into the decorators' shop to be given a nice lick of paint. 👨🎨

Ever wandered around a show and thought - how on earth do they build that!? They say you've got to break a few eggs to make an omelette, and exhibition stands are no different. There's plenty of (organised) mess to be made before the polished final product can emerge. Here's an exclusive look behind the scenes building Greensea IQ at Oceanology International...
Stage 1: Laying the platform 💪
The foundation of the stand - this enables us to run electrical cables under the floor, which keeps the stand looking tidy and prevents dangerous trip hazards. ⚠
Stage 2: Laying the floor covering 🎨
This project involved the use of cutting templates to create the Greensea logo from several different colour-matched carpet and vinyl options. It's then covered in a thin protective film for the rest of the build-up.
Stage 3: Erecting the back walls 📦
Structurally sound and generally composed of reusable stock panels, they form the backbone of every stand build!
Stage 4: Building the overhead structure 🏗
Our operatives are well-trained in safe working at height practices, as per the industry guidelines - they've done a great job here!
Stage 5: Front support beams 🏛
As soon as these are installed we can remove the temporary supports from the overhead beams - it's all coming together nicely.
Stage 6: Electrical switch-on ⚡
Time to light 'em up and check everything works as it should - we don't want any electrical gremlins cropping up for the exhibitor during the show.
Stage 7: Decoration, clean-up & product placement 🚮
